2012 Thrivent Builds Habitat for Humanity – Get Involved!

I have found that working with the Thrivent Builds team, you can build relationships with many Lutherans from the Central Alabama area. There are many ways to help without lifting a hammer! We need someone to be on a meal planning committee, we will have our hope chest drive, and we are beginning the fundraising process. Please consider supporting this project in any way you feel comfortable.

General Information about the Project

12 area Lutheran Churches are working together on the Thrivent Builds house. All together we need to raise $10,000.00. Thrivent Financial will provide the rest. For more information you can go to www.thriventbuilds.org or www.habitatbirmingham.org.

Start time on Saturdays is between 7:30 - 8:00 AM until 3:30 - 4:00 PM.
You do not have to stay all day. Many people stay until lunch and leave when they need to.
Sign-in at the registration table each time you volunteer.
Lunch is usually served around noon.
The planned build duration is 8 to 10 weeks. Look at the schedule.
Bring a completed Release Waiver on your first day. Blank waiver forms will also be available at the registration table.
You may bring gloves, tools, etc. Personal tools are welcome but not required. Habitat provides gloves (one size fits all) and tools on the build site.

The ground breaking ceremony will be February 25 at 7:30 AM. If you would like to volunteer that day, please contact me.

Also, we are looking for a committee to provide a meal on March 3. If you would be interested in helping, please let me know.
